This library holds the language of our Countries — Birrbay, Warrimay and Guringay — where Gathang belongs. We acknowledge the old people as the first speakers and keepers of our language, we thank all who have contributed to this library, and we honour the educators — like Wandigiyn, the lyrebird — who work tirelessly carrying language forward for our future generations.

Wandigiyn means lyrebird in the Gathang language. The lyrebird is the language carrier. A master of mimicking sound, it holds the sounds of language, the sounds of our Country, through generations. This digital keeping place for our language is named in honour of Wandigiyn.
